When Pete Townshend played the first DEMO version of Squeeze Box for the other members of The Who, Pete played it with an accordion.  When he finished, there was a moment of silence.  Then Keith Moon got up,  walked over to Pete,  and with tears in his eyes, hugged him.  Keith knew that Pete's childhood was from a very broken home. After Pete's parents divorced, his mother, who was quite promiscuous, made Pete call the men she brought home, uncle.  This song is Pete Townshend's inner-child dreaming of a loving home he never had.
