This video is so beautiful but eerie. I’m honestly surprised they released it. The nature of the song perfectly reflects what is apparent in the video. The tension between them is crazy and there is an apparent rift between them as well. Perhaps the two of them really do wish they were the “one who got away” 😥😥

I think their style of folk music transcends the genres enough to be so enjoyable by more that just one label. I know of others that wouldn't look at folksy music until I had them listen to the Civil Wars beautiful and haunting compositions.\

Joy Williams is intoxicating. She is one of the sexiest women on this planet. I can't imagine touring with her and not touching her. She has the voice of what we hope angels are.

Something I noticed while listening to this album the other night--Joy's vocals are so much louder than JPW's. I have no idea why, but it really bothered me. To the point where I just cannot listen to the album anymore without cringing. :/

What a surprise they split - she pushed him away from singing/participating, keeping mic for herself alone. Jealousy to higher talent doesn't know limits.

Truth be told, recording can be such a tedious and frustrating process that you could still easily edit footage of two people who were perfectly in love and in sync in such a way that it would look like they hate each other.
