I am a young teen and I just lost my Mama. She was an opera singer, and sang for 20 years with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus. As a child, I vividly remember sitting in the car listening to Mama singing. She sang every time we were in the car. She sang this most often. I still remember her beautiful voice singing these words of praise to the Lord. As a result, I have most of this work memorized. Every time I hear it, it brings back such wonderful memories that I can't stop crying. I think I cried straight through this. I am following in Mama's footsteps by becoming a violinist. I hope to honor her by gaining entrance into the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in time. Thank you for this truly heartfelt performance of one of Vivaldi's greatest works.

Gorgeous!!! The Vivaldi Gloria is one of my favorite choral pieces. I've sung it several times, done both mezzo-soprano solo pieces. This choir & orchestra were wonderful!

Some classical music is so awesome you nearly want to cry... This is one of those pieces. I love 10:28 forward (and 15:28 forward), but it's all really awesome. I played this piece in my high school orchestra... Awesome memories!

A certain depth is achieved here which I have not heard before in the first piece. Yet, the upper registers are lacking buoyancy and it gets hellish in the rest of the performance. It does not soar as it could. Wooden, staid. No. It falls.

In proportion to the choir, the sopranos seem to be in the minority .... their voice is heard very little, even in the points where it should instead be well present and strong.

"Et in terra pax". I got completely emotional about this passage starting at 05:43. Heavenly ascending stepwise bass line with bold and passionate suspensions and dissonances sung by top parts. It is a pitty Vivaldi still being a underrated composer. His artistry is stated in many of his compostions as "Concerti con molti stromenti" and its brilliant and colourful orchestration, as well his mad and rocky "Sonata La Folia".

In understand your opinion. But you know, it depends also on which period of latin : the early and late one are so different and the way of speaking even during the Roman Empire was changing between East and West !

@Régis FRANCAIS ok, but the pronounce "EZZELSIS DEO" is terrible :-D However, the Latin of Church has its own rules of pronounce.
