The EU is a corrupt organization that does not value the rights of its members.

Música de verdade😌
I'm listening to this masterpiece on the 31/10/19, and giving thanks that it's NOT, inspite of the best efforts of our corrupt and self-serving and depraved Tory government and the shameful lies they and their wealthy backers spout , the day my nation departs the European Union (at least not yet, and, hopefully neve ! )...the EU's use of Beethoven 'Ode to Joy' in the final movement is a very powerful reminder of the brotherhood our great nations share, and where peaceful co-existence prevails !
fuck the EU and fuck you
You suck for commercials mid playback.
I seriously think this is a human achievement up there with the moon landing and the Spaniard Empire with the new world and the spaniard Juan Sebastian Elcano discovering the world around and traveling through all the seas.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is filled with music with good cheer and love and Matthieu Dufour was there too with Louise Dixon, Richard Graef And Jennifer Gunn and everyone.
Beethoven was the german soul.
Superb!
the music is awesome, simply genius... the lyrics from Schiller too Seid umschlungen Millionen!

In a work with so many great moments, each peak higher than the last, my very favorite part of this monumental work is the simple woodwind solo about 3 & a half minutes into the 4th movement. SUBLIME!
"I wouldn't hear of it." - Beethoven
imagine being absolutely deaf, yet you would be able to write a monumental piece of 4 movements, which is now considered by a lot of people the best symphony ever created
when the fuck did doctor octopus conduct orchestras!?!?!
Those violin strings should be broken by now.

Hats off to the Chicago Symphony !
Riccardo Muti = Maestro
Can we get better than this?
In the presence of Greatness.
Ludwig Van Beethoven = Musical Genius
Brilliant, just brilliant!

Nice. But Americans singing in German? I don't think so. It's something like having Germans perform Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. I prefer the other popular youtube 9th played in Leipzig, by Germans (vocalists not reading but doing it by heart) and it appears by a German conductor who sings with the vocalists. Don't think Mr. Muti can do that and therefore full intensity and understanding may not be there.
I don't doubt there are some musical subtleties that Germans naturally pick up on playing Germanic music that American musicians (and audiences) simply miss by not being totally steeped in the culture. Keep in mind though that there's a large population with German heritage in the U.S. and European classical music has been studied and played for over two hundred years here. This is not the case with American music in Europe. Frankly, there's nothing worse than listening to Germans try to play American music - especially if there's a jazz influence present. The British seem to "get it". But German musicians seem utterly clueless to how "wrong" it sounds (especially rhythmically) to Americans. Nothing the Chicago Symphony is doing here compares to how the Germans butcher Gershwin or Bernstein or Copland.

What old fucks were they playing for? Or was it the old fucks playing the instruments? No aggression or any soul in this one
This work is such a joy to perform, but Muti's face looks like he is thinking, "thank god that is over with."
Is that a fucking 5 string bass at 54:28????
How did 4.9k people dislike this?
Who sat through the whole hour
MUTI = NAPOLI
1:04:59 This fugue...
The fucking Grammarly ads interrupting Beethoven's symphony.
Sapo bully si better
Oh, Bless.
that so long!!!
One thing I've noticed about Beethoven is that his odd symphonies are his best - particularly 1, 3, 5, and 9.... Maybe the number 7 was too perfect for even him.... Ludwig I fancy listening to your new 7 in the hereafter :) Even the best symphony composer the world has ever known can get better right? We just won't invite those 4.8K who disliked you, but the rest of heaven will rejoice.
You can't even begin to explain the genius behind this masterpiece
He was brilliant!
Just to thank those who made this wonderful and first class rendition of the classic available to everyone in the world for free. It is truly a pity that as humans we have such a short life span. I wonder what Ludwig would have further achieved had he lived long enough for his hearing to be restored by modern technology.
molto vivace! only God can overpower this masterpiece!
New Polk Audio Legend L800 vs
Acoustics very bad.
Went to see this symphony performed at the other day at the Royal Albert Hall.. Couldn't stop the tears from flowing (in front of my four kids too). If you haven't been to see this performance live, you must!! Put it on your bucket list!
What symphonic style??
Im so happy that the audience didnt clap between the movements
what a true gift: from Ludwig, AND. utube so we can listen repeatedly!!🤩
Imagine composing this masterpiece while deaf.Ludwig did an overkill.
Lilla K wait he's deaf?
I like to think that the angels began playing this masterpiece the moment Beethoven stepped through the gates of Heaven, his hearing fully restored.
@hotsauce :3 yes. he lost his hearing by the time he composed this masterpiece.
this music is beautiful.if you close your eyes you could probably imagine something cool.
Spiccatto close to the strings amazing orchestra
I want to paint.
This is the first time I have ever listened to and watched a orchestra all the way through. I am confused though, why do they need a orchestra leader when most of the musicians have their eyes glued to the pages of the music? Just asking so please don't be rude. I am trying to learn. Thank you.
The conductor gives the feeling of music, the emotion, tells how musicians should phrase the music. Of course they don’t look to him all the time, but they do it every bar or two.
@Glinator K. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I'm in tears because of the beginning. It is such bullshit to lose a child. I am so glad charlie's parents did this and I'm so sorry.

A guy asked another next to him in a concert: " Bethoven,... ehh.., is he still composing?". " No, he decomposed." the man replied.
Is the flute player the principal flute of the Berliner Philarmoniker??? He looks like him...
We need war to kill the US government
First classic music I hear after getting a hearing aid. Never really liked much classical music before. Now I know why. I just didnt hear the mild gentle sounds. What a moment when hearing this. New worldThank you!
Today, I saw the 'Beethoven frieze' by Klimt which was inspired by this masterpiece. Surely was the best moment of my life, felt so blessed. Thank you Lord!!
Grande Maestro MUTI!!!
Who wanting 1880 ?
Thank you so much, for making the video available for everyone to enjoy!
Idk..this new shit is okay, but his older stuff was way better, man.
I think the two female solo singer should have dressed as everybody else: black. It's just disgusting how women try to be the center of attention in such a performance of a hundred people.
Beethoven being deaf, composed this. This is like playing GO completely blind. Amazing! On another note, if I am mayor of Chicago, I would invest in more kids in the inner city learning instruments, and see performances like this -- perhaps decrease chance of violence and gang life.
Who decided to put ads on this video?
This piece of art has been ruined by the f0'king ads
I dont see any ads here. Maybe you need to git gud. Or ask your children for help.
