Is there any sheet music for the theme and chords?
The conversation they have over the changes at the end before the last head was one of the best moments in jazz. The way they responded to each other just made me cry. God damn.
Incredible....Jaw dropping. It does not get any hotter than this. The steam is coming off of this one.
Two of the baddest motherfuckers of all times.
Restless leg syndrome!
He had to take a leak....didn't anyone tell you?
I love how ambiguous the music is, you can’t tell if the story is about a guy getting friend zoned or whether it’s about some kind of affair going down but you’re covering it up by saying you’re just friends
Jackson Elmore well it’s actually just a break up lol if you listen to the lyrics it’s pretty apparent
I’ve never heard the version with words I’ll have to check that out
That guy moves his feet faster than I can sweep pick
Smokin’ Joe! Almost like he’s going levitate out of that chair.
Que le pasó al mundo?
Amazing!
My crush sent me this
formidable.... genarations to come will have to come back
on the guitar there was Joe Pass..
Nasty!! Just nasty jazz masters!!
Holy shit. Amazing. Hats off.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
When Oscar does that run down at 3:32....I just had to throw my head back and laugh....other-worldly players
Unparalleled greatest.
NHOP on bass is excellent too!!!!
Wow awesome! I ve always wondered which is faster, Oscar s brain or fingers?
thanks for the upload. i truly live for this
Jazz at its best! Joe Pass sounds incredible as does Oscar and the band
That drummer and upright bass player are just as impressive
Of course, it's NHØP at the bass! A legend!
I saw beautifully talented people at the Royal Festival Hall in London. One thing that I remember, is when OP played a run on his piano and Joe pass, sticking his tongue Out, repeated it on his guitar. Brilliant professionals.A lovely evening out, amongst some of the finest musicians to have ever lived.
They are two genius
Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass, superhuman musicians, inconceivable, other-worldly abilities. Truly, as they say, awesome!!!
these splendid guys are both genius ,,,,utter sublome joy lol
A piano and guitar trading fours. Wow, I want to do that sometime.
I must have imagined the bass and drum musicians because this is only Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass playing. Now, if only I could do the same with my bank account!
How much fun is it looking at geniuses at work. Just amazing.
Thank you so muchI don't play piano and I don't play guitarUnfortunatelyMy instrument is fluteBut this is an extraordinary master class for people like me tooThank you
Brian Ruskin I really like the flute!
I love Pedersen's bass...and this tune, done brilliantly. Lovely!
SOOTHYN JAZZ PIANO says wow !!!!!!!
As good as it gets.
I wonder if this man ever looked at tab
That's FIRE! Two gods of music together. Love that twitchin' leg (under the tension of that crazy tempo).
Catch Joe's two bars of Duke's "I'm Beginning to See the Light" at 3:42, whizzing by at about 4 times the tempo?
Thanks for showing this precious piece of Jazz ... 👍
A 22 pendejos No Les gusta jajaja
Two sacred cows
Guitar sounds a million times ritcher and tastefull then a piano.

People that put this down are are mad at themselves.

So true - it's truly amazing!
just marvelous friends !
whoever disliked this is a twat
wwooww... dois fenômenos... salve o jazz!!
I wet my pants at 3:36....
Awesome performance!
Oscar Peterson's left hand is honestly not so exciting...
Does anyone knows what kind of guitar is that?
James L. D'Aquisto
akrtmn Finest luthier ever. He built that one just for Joe.
Boah ist das ein Tier! Unglaublich Hammer!
Never ever will there ever be the likes of O P and his command of the 88's. Rhythm worked their tails off on this one. And what can be said about the guitar player -FANTASTIC, and thanks for the post
Nagyon elismert együttes és egyénileg is mind profi.
CHOPS:Without Musical Intelligence, they are merely calisthenics, merely an athletic event, regardless of how "Olympian" that event might be.However, add CHOPS and Musical Intelligence together, and you get...THIS.(If Peterson were a guitarist, he'd play like Pass; if Pass were a pianist, ditto.)
Absolutely incredible when oscar peterson repeats joe pass' line at 3:13...
You can see Mr. Pass smile right there too
Also the way he picks up Mr. Pass’ line at 1:44
Oh so beautiful and these 2 own this song !! sweet !!
Fantastic!!
O.P §J.P §N.P..the finest talented and lovely persons ! Thanks to them .they give somuch !
Joe pass
Maravilha!
A real treat to hear the four greatest musicians on their respective instruments in their heyday. I've seen them all live but together.
Amazing!
Truly wonderful!
the moment at 3:40 makes me happy
After the fours, as Joe Pass restates the theme @3:42 he ironically inserts "I never went in for afterglow", a brief quote from lyrics of I'm Beginning to See the Light (Duke Ellington). It is simultaneous a wry comment on the text of Just Friends and an acknowledgement that the show is just about over.
How is that ironic? I don't think you understand the definition of irony. Also I'm certain you're seeing way too far into that.
LOL how do you know it's that exact phrase? I mean, the song has the same melody with three different phrases :p Haha but I like the idea, "no afterglow", "lovers or nothing, no friends" (it is in fact ironical)
What a wonderful band. Oscar, NHOP and the incredible Joe P.
JESUS THAT LAST CHORD ALMOST KNOCKED ME OUT OF MY SEAT
Shane Combs right??
Speaking of jesus,it looks like a nativity scene anyway !
Me too, I'm just getting up from tha floor and wiping my ass from that last chord. I got to see Joe Pass in Houston.. A little amp but HUGE CHORD'S. He was AWESOME.
You and me both! An awesome ending!
At the conclusion is shows BBC Four, 1980.
incredible... amp is a mini brute 2?
+RLKGuitar Love yourt Lemmy Icon
+Bob Leapson :)
This was of course, wonderful. BUT -- they needed to tell us a LOT more than when it was published. WHAT was the show? WHEN was it, on TV etc. etc. sigh.
It's a D'Aquisto. You can tell by the headstock and tailpiece. I wonder if it it plywood or a solid top.
+Nick DiGennaro it 's plywood. Joe's D' Aquisto was laminated, but i'd kill to have one like it..... also i 'd kill for Joe's talent....!
what guitar is Joe playing here?
+Norbert Schlaffke Looks like a D'Aquisto
Epiphone emperor.
Holy shit.
Epoustouflant, et très bien filmé. La très grande classe...!
Jazz as I like it😎💥🍺
I like the smile on Joe Pass s face when Oscar Peterson takes over the line from him. Beautiful
Doesn't get any better than this...
No. No, it doesn't. Ever!
Mason Ashe agree 100%
Play it at 1.25x speed lol
Burning!
Heck, I could do that.
At 3.13 Oscar replies lightning fast with joes last melody from his 4. Top stuff!
Conor Smith He was a fucking genius. Awesome.
you can see Joe grinning when he does that haha gosh, legends
Holly cow, you are goddam right... Can see even the expression on Joe ahhahahah very nice
I'm pretty much positive he had perfect pitch, he literally sang every note he played simultaneously. It's God damn amazing!
Useful tool for sure, having an amazing ear like that!
Love Joe Pass! I believe that is a quote from Ellington's "I'm Beginning to See the Light"
