hey Luke would love to hear what u mean that. I have heard this from some people. Apparently the Dotted Eighth can be misused and can destroy the jazz feel.

@Arv H Because it's not really a dotted eighth. It's very hard to notate swing because most of the time, it's the musicians' choice of how much to swing. Listen to Dexter Gordon play Apple Jump; his interpretation of swing there is very relaxed, almost behind the beat. Compared to this, in which the swing is a lot harder, more driving in nature.
