It's all in the mind, y'know.
Combinava demais!!
The line "When you see beyond yourself you mayfind peace of mind is waiting there'" is a dailythought.
There's something about this song that makes you euphoric, I can't put in words, it just is.
Can I get the names of the ones who played the sitar, the sarangi and the tabla?
George played the sitar, idk about the other stuff
We were talking, about the space between us allAnd the people, who hide themselves behind a wall of illusionNever glimpse the truth, then it's far too late when they pass awayWe were talking, about the love we all could shareWhen we find it, to try our best to hold it there, with our loveWith our love we could save the world, if they only knewTry to realize it's all within yourself, no-one else can make you changeAnd to see you're really only very smallAnd life flows on within you and without youWe were talking, about the love that's gone so coldAnd the people who gain the world and lose their soulThey don't know, they can't see, are you one of them? When you've seen beyond yourselfThen you may find peace of mind is waiting thereAnd the time will come when you see we're all oneAnd life flows on within you and without you
What is the indian instrument in this song?
Amazing that he composed this music and lyrics with such meaning at only 23 years old.
This song helps me find my buddhist lifestyle clearer
Can someone please tell me what instrument is making that repeating droning noise from the start? Is it a sitar or a tambura?
padavicari
This song and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds has Acid written all over it xD
Aviation TV all of Sgt Pepper basically has acid written all over it lol
Mommy loves you, Lovey Dove!!!

A great song from a great album indeed !
Man George has an underrated voice. Thought that was John singing at first.
Not about the beetles but the first few seconds if you remove the sitar it low key sounds like the soundtrack to joker
is it bad that i already knew every single message in this song before?

Thats pure LSD and life
I can appreciate this song, but I can’t honestly say I like it. Maybe it’s so different from other Beatles songs, it throws me for a loop, but it just has never grabbed me
I found waldo
My favourite song of The Beatles The other are: 1 This 2 The Inner Light 3 She said she said4 hey jude 5 you know my name look up the number
I used to meditate to this album while reading occult work of the 19th and 20th century a crystal shop next to Trinity Christian College sold at the age of 17 as I contemplated social rebellion and took my own virginity while in strange candlelit trances in the late 1990’s. It was a better fate than marrying in my community that later genocided my mother for being a converted Christian Jew who wouldn’t obey an opiate addict.
PEACE BROTHERS AND SISTERS ♥️
You have to give George Martin his due with the fabulous arranging he did on this haunting George Harrison gem. He certainly gave the Beatles the sophistication musically they couldn't have possessed considering their age and formal training. He must have had fun!
I wonder how and why George Harrison wanted to use Sarangi.
George alone put India on the map with his Indian songs. A 23 year old at the time!
1.5 SPEED GANG
This song on acid is a trip within itself, i fucking love it.
This is beautiful genius. Makes me want to seek out a word for a state of mind ascendence above genius. Nonetheless, this is beauty incarnate. So many doors beyond our hallway. Infinite doors. And then incomprehensible infinities beyond thus. The greatest beauty. The beauty beyond baseline comprehension... Evolution.
This song is barfbo so I like it
Deep wisdom is being shed here. Listen up.
From She Loves You to this....
SUBLIME
Indian instruments are used in this song WOW
This song could send anyone to zen. So relaxing
This isn't a song. It's a journey...
The Beatles = A bridge of cultures and the Best band of the World!!!
My dad has always said the notes at 3:04-3:05 sound like they're saying 'Oh really?' and now I can never hear it differently haha
One of George's masterpieces, Hare Krishna.
Música maravilhosa, muito psicodélica, porém a versão do Oasis é melhor.
That which taketh shall also giveth. The shallows become the great deep. Thine deep shall reveal.
It's just as mesmerizing and hypnotic now as well over 50 years ago , while first hearing this song enter my psyche! RIP George.

Want legal drugs? Listen to this! Best if you close your eyes, drift off.
The Beatles tried every genre of music in my opinion, if you don't like one of their song, you may like another one, if you like an indian kind of genre, then you should like this, in my opinion.
If you listen in 0.75x it sounds even more spiritual than it already is
Whoever produced this deserves a fucking knighthood.
Well isn't chicory.
Fantastic song from 60's, psychedelic feeling.
aight imma transcend
He introduced transcendental consciousness to more people around the world than ever in history
🤭👀🙈🙉🙊😍😍
9 year old me listening to this: wtf is this? mom, are you sure this is the Beatles?22 year old me listening to this: brother, pass me the joint. I think George is trying to speak to me
The happy time, before the burden sets in😇
Here, not only are melodic contours known and appreciated by the Hindoos, but also an absolutely new harmonic material, which brings us prisms, clusters of chords, thick chimes, and garlands of garlands. What strikes first of all in this music is,on the one hand, the penetrating charm of harmonic aggregations and, on the other hand, the absolute clarity of intervals !
The Beatles get really trippy-thanks, Maharishi!
This is probably the most underrated song on the album. I never hear anyone talk about Within You Without You, it’s such a great song.
Love You To's better, that's partly why.
Picnicl but Love You Too isn’t on Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. What I was saying is that when people talk about Sgt. Pepper’s, people barely ever talk about Within You Without You.
It's relatively unreconstructedly Indian therefore (although I see lyrical beauty in it) arguably like a filler in retrospect (an arguably workmanlike follow up to Love You To by George's usual quirky and melodic Beatles standards). He sounds bored or tense to me, not relaxed nor sensual. As you probably know, George wasn't in to the Pepper concept/s at all - only Paul was massively - (same for Magical Mystery Tour to some extent I think) - hence the disparaging 'Only A Northern Song' by George. Most people don't talk about Think for Yourself, I Want To Tell You, Love You To, either. And some Lennon songs and McCartney songs are rarely mentioned.
Picnicl yes, I agree with you there. But, again, I’m not referring to Beatles songs in general, just the ones on Sgt. Pepper’s.
People listen to this Dutch live masterpiece , and see the rest of these guys : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhvrsWMLUBg&list=RDFhvrsWMLUBg&start_radio=1

Probably the best song on the great album and the best song the beatles never did; big respect for George - Hari bol!
Sexy song
Gotcha, song and painting first
I always thought this song was about Meditation lol, anyway, it’s really quiet, thanx, Dad <3,
The audience crying at the end. That always gets me.
A group calld the soulful strings also did this song✌👍
Patti Smith did a nice take on it
To flip the album over and then to hear this song for the very first time. WoW!
Burning one to this song right now. ✌🏼
As others have commented, a simple masterpiece, relevant to today The words about life and death: they can't see the truth when it's far too late and they pass away...I played this song when I saw it on a jukebox years ago and rather than absorb the message of truth a fellow cancelled the song mid-stream for another song... "they can't see" ... Are you one of them?Thank you George for such a beautiful masterpiece!
Beautiful piece of music....just short of beatific.
Superb!!!
That sitar is heavenly
The best Beatles song
We are now finally starting to see the fourth dimension. All illusion and material grasping is giving way to a need for letting go.Let it go....
I first heard this one very early in my Beatles fandom and didn't like it. It didn't stand up to "I Want To Hold Your Hand" or "Let It Be". Somehow, 4 years later I reheard this one and was completely blown away by it. That is what makes The Beatles so great. They get better and better when you listen to them more.
George was 23
Deep mysticism here
My 10 Favorite Beatles Songs10. Within You Without You 9. I Want You (She's So Heavy) 8. Love Me Do 7. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds 6. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 5. Come Together 4. Maxwell's Silver Hammer 3. Strawberry Fields Forever 2. I Am The Walrus 1. A Day In The Life
Great song. Very interesting lyrically as well as musically. A bit slow, though, which may be why many people lift the needle and skip to the next track. Unfortunate
What instruments are being used here?
Tambura, sitar, acoustic guitar, dilruba, dilruba, tabla, tambura, tambura, swarmandal, violins, and, oh!Cellos.
Anyone ever made a connection with this and without her by Harry Nilsson
Spetacular!
The Beatles were great song writers to be sure, but they only made it on the music scene because of their producer George Martin who was a fantastic musician in his own right.
Indian music?
full circle
*listens to the first few seconds of the song* me: yup, this is George’s song
The owner of the r/TheBeatles Discord server hates this song, and I can’t imagine why,
mind control, only reasonable explanation
