This song reminds me so much of my aunt. She was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer at only 23. November 6th was the day she passed away but it was so weird. Right before she left she had known so much. She seemed powerful at times and others completely at peace. Right before she went, she told her mom that the battle was won already and that she is okay. Today it still powers me to do my absolute best to make sure that I see her again at another time No Matter What

This was the song I picked for my mother's funeral in January 2018. She was a strong, independent, unique & kind person, who loved life. When we were in the chapel, this music resonated greatly with the friends that came. It helped me to deliver a 10 minute eulogy, written from the heart. The shock of losing your closest relative cannot be imagined, but we steel ourselves for it "You were only waiting for this moment to arise". Love you mum

I lost my uncle today to cancer and he was a big the Beatles fan. He was a musician in the 70s and 4 years ago, he gifted me my first piano after he'd seen me play his in his music room and thought I should continue on with my inclination to music. I'll always remember him every time I listen to the Beatles from now on. RIP uncle, you will be missed ♥️

i was watching a video of Paul quite recently and he did state that, as you say Susan, this song was written about the civil rights movement in the US.

Actually this was wrote for John Lennons first son whom he rarily ever saw because of Johns crazy second wife Yoko Ono. She didnt want John to see him. She only wanted John to be with her and their son. So he wrote this song to encourage him and make him feel better. Its in the documentary on youtube of the two sons John had . He tells it himself. It was written for Julian. Sean was the preffered son. Interestingly enough Julian is the one that is humble and has his fathers talent. Sean is crazy like his mom in a way. Yoko also MADE Julian buy his fathers things instead of just giving them to him. She fought Julian for years in court.

Like always, their music is amazing. The Beatles were master musicians and performers, partially due to the many hours they spent playing in a club in Hamburg, Germany where they could be on stage for almost 8 hours at a time. It takes 10,000 hours to master something, they mastered their craft and now we can all listen to it. :D

I just covered this on my channel--if anyone has the time to give it a look it would mean the world to me :) One of my favorites by the Beatles for so many reasons.
