I don't know why but the first time I listened to the whole album I started crying at the very end with the "But the sun is eclipsed by the moon" I had no idea what it meant but for some reason it just really hit me.

As undeniably fantastic of a song as "Money" is, I think this pair is the best piece in the entire album, and it may be the songs that embody everything Pink Floyd is perfectly: extremely dark and depressed, yet unshakably convinced that joy is right around around the corner and passionately wanting to reach and protect it, like trying to claw their way out of a pit with the mindless hope only someone truly desperate can feel.

when this album came out in the 70s I was lost to a great degree, i'm still lost today just differently lost. I remember driving down long back roads smoking out and then sitting through long depressed silences with others in crash pads and trailer houses. Now I make 6 figures and live in a different reality.... but , honestly there is still that lost silence.. that distance between yourself and the others that nothing can ever fill. I pray God that when it is all over I understand it.

To ian8 below, I know your pain and my advice is to exercise and enjoy the health benefits and the endorphin rush, stay away from all drugs, psychology advocates because they're poison to your recovery. Enjoy nature, God and possibly buy a motorcycle and just live. I've been thru mental disease and it's painful but you can endure if you desire, your not given more than you can handle, prayers to you and yours.

This is one of the songs that I remember from my childhood.

I don’t want to admit that these two tracks together are my favorite on the entire album, but there just couldn’t have been any better way to conclude it. Hearing the line “I’ll see you on the Dark Side of the Moon” for the first time is the most satisfying thing ever.You know the phrase “end with a bang”? Well this is the epitome of that.
