he was probably on heroin when he made that joint......
BRUTAL❤
Im here because Gucci’s FW2019 campaign.
From GUCCI
Че пацаны масло да?
I was so cool when i first listened to this song.
Anybody here from gucci fall winter 2019?
Yeah, fortunately/unfortunately.
Homemade Carlojose Gucci doesn’t like black wearing their cloth but like to use black music to promote their brand SMH
TitanMode what are you talking about
@y2kbrody What i am talking about ? the racist commercials few months ago Gucci made making it clear they don't like black people wearing their brand
@TitanModeActually, they had a "POC" in the mentioned ad. He looked like he is ok literally wearing what the song "Poppin' Tags" is about. I've seen other Gucci ads with Black people in them as well and they all look retarded, just like the white people in the ads, so...
thanks gucci
Who came here from burning ? Not from shitty Gucci ad
totally amazing.
Perfection.
I like this mood, miles Davis do amazing things
Amazing music
Burning - and just by itself - a masterpiece of life and death - mostly of life
I blasted this sh*t last night with the top down cruising up Sunset Boulevard, Them Muh Fuggers couldn't believe me!!!
It fucking pisses me off that people only know this song from Burning and not the Elevator to the Gallows, the movie for which it was fucking COMPOSED for. I don't know I feel like if you're gonna use a legendary song in your movie that's already been used in another classic film you should at least make some kind of homage to the original.
Your comment is retarded
hipster. People can use music however they want. This song was used beautifully in Burning and an homage to Gallows would’ve been unnecessary
@Luke Donovan fuck off, it's a song that was composed specifically for a movie, it's not like a song made independently by an artist and used at different times by different filmmakers - I think that would be fine, but this is more like if you tried to use the star wars theme in your movie and tried to pass it off as your own. it's shitty.
so haunting
only came by "burning"
It's sad that i won't be able to watch 'burning' for the first time again. The dance scene is without a doubt one of my favorite scenes in film.
창녀나 옷을 그렇게 벗는거야
Call Me By Your Name !! Dix Pour Cent
Burning anyone?
Yes, Lee Chang Dong masterpiece🔥
Best masterpiece heard in a movie -> Burning (2018)
Ana Grgna same, heard it there and was compelled to add this to the soundtrack of my life. Rest is history.
@CVZ - DO you guys know the other title of the song in that film - when Ben was making spaghetti in his apartment for his two visitors? What was the name of that song
Ahmad Zahar unfortunately no, lmk if you have luck finding it.
@Ahmad Zahar dude that song was a hidden gem. Also the song played when Ben was exercising in a gym in a tall building
Ascenseur sur echafffaud
I like to burn old greenhouses
@Tsar Nicolas II man i wrote that comment right after seeing it, and u are right, it is just good. It really grew on me the few days after the screening.
@weebdalecooper Definitely weird though, you weren't wrong there. It was based on a Murakami story after all.
@weebdalecooper Glad you changed your mind! haha
I checked every greenhouse in town, I didn't see any burned tho.
I feel like no other film captures the feelings of modern men/women like burning does.
'Beoning' a.k.a 'Burning'
Elevator to the Gallows. Miles soundtracked the whole film
An incredible moment of pure pleasure in the movie "Burning"
True that, with the "Hunger" dance. It was so haunting 🔥🔥

There are some real awesome people commenting on this it seems. Best music brings out the best people. Cheers all!
the Lincoln commercial brought me here...this music is the bomb🎶🎶🎶
Ma fille Charlotte me me l'avait fait écouter , elle er devait avoir 15 ans.
Je l'ecoutaisà nouveau après un long voyage en Suède à linkoping, un gars jouait ce morceau sur la place principale. Cognac et cigarette, jetais émerveillé
incomparable Miles Davis , c est le Picasso du jazz ......................
I remember watching Ken Burn's Jazz documentary, Keith David narrated over this song as he explained how Miles got over his heroin addiction and you felt the pain
Very mystique just nothing else can compare to this sound WOW!!!!!!!!!! so smoooooooth
fell in love with this the 1st time I heard it. so haunting.
the life is generique and the death also.
Miles was the prototype, everything else is Generique
la sonorité de MILES DAVIS est ....magnifique !!!!!

and create.
but only when youve been awake all night, driving through the ciry lights
Been there!
for me its 8 in the evening in a bar
love love love him this song the feeling it gives you
Any recognise the first phrase as a blues scale, sounded a lot like "Good Bye pork pie hat" by Mingus. Also, anyone here from the Lincoln ad? I'm a trumpet player and I heard it and was immediately enthralled.
The ad was made amazing simply because of this song...❤️
This is so good.
I need more music like this in my life
+Owen Thomas I think we all do
try Bohren & Der Club of Gore.Their album 'Sunset Mission' has a very deep mood. If you like this, you'll like that album
Check out John Coltrane
Fabulous, superb...I didn't know this one....I said that's a great Miles Davis piece on the Lincoln ad, and my bf said, as usual, it's studio musicians doing a generic piece in his style...when will he learn? Thank you, Shazam
seems like it would be in LA NOIRE
Sublime...all the way down to the bass line.
MILES DAVIS...Very few musicians have even been able to walk ten feet/meters in Miles Davis' footsteps. Jazz is the ONLY truly AMERICAN ORIGINAL ART FORM which is enbraced by all the tribes of the Earth. This song captures only a mere glimps of the purity, strength, determination, and everlasting authority o that prevail through all trials, all tribulations, and all opposing negative powers that be. That is who Miles Davis and his music was and that is who Miles Davis and his music will be throughout eternity!
Beautifully stated!
Leon Tanner Right on
I've loved this song for years and haven't heard it in so long since I heard a snippet on a Lincoln commercial and it reminded me of how peaceful this made me feel.
Mon dieu que c'est beau.
Could someone be kind enough to give me the title of the album this is from? I am a huge Miles fan, but this song of his has changed my life.
The album is "Ascenseur Pour l'Echaufaud". That was the soundtrack album for the 1958 Louis Malle film with that title. The title translated is "Elevator To The Gallows". Malle asked Miles to improvise all of the music for the film.
Dang, man. That's some deep stuff!
perfect
Music for the soul...
I'm currently drinking Macallan 64 Year Old scotch in Lalique, and my house is made of quantum stabilized atom mirrors, yet neither of these things are as remotely smooth as this.
I think the Talisker suits better....enjoy !
Ha, my post was a result of some quick googling...I'll have to take your word for it!
Macallan is superb , too !!! ahaha
hahaha made my day :D
You have me beat...I'm nursing an 18, wish you were here :)
So late it's early?Too drunk to drink?Too tired to sleep?Play this.
I like what you said....I like how u said it lol
mind blowing
As you are!
parfait !
This is ART!
Hi! Could someone or someones recommend any other jazz pieces that are similarly melancholy like this masterpiece? Thank you! It's so haunting, sensual, beautiful. It stopped me in my tracks.
Goodbye Pork Pie Hat - Mingus
Thank you!!!
+Cat Ries Check out Miles' "Sketches of Spain" CD. There is some really beautiful, deep playing on that recording.
I used to go to Miles house in Connecticut and do blow with many beautiful women that i brought from NYC. He loved Rock & Roll music and loved to be around them. We loved him too. And oh what jams!
Think humans been diffecul and that`s good so. So maybe he was not loneley, more shy, thought so?
This is Pure Art!
Don't forget it has to be raining outside for full effect!
No doubt. I get the chills from this song, too. That was one bad cat.
miles davis must been a lonely man
This is music for sensitive beings.
A great piece of music, heard this 50 years ago while watching the film at my local jazz club, it still gives me shivers down my spine...
...so useless to comment in this tune...

que pedazo de tema!!!
Ascenseur pour l'echafaud best soundtrack ever!
Whoa... never heard anything like this before.
The gentleman's music. Period.
Bruce Lee I second that
This is the definition of COOL !!

Haha, trumpets don't modify sound?=P
Long before there were ways to modify sound...pure!
Yesterdays played by Clifford Brown on the album `With Strings`I don´t believe someone uploaded it here on youtube but you can listen to it on Grooveshark or go and buy the actual album, the entire album is amazing.
