this sounds corny as hell but this band really kept me going when i was really depressed and when i really didn't see a future for myself, i started using drugs and alcohol as "medication" and after abusing both of those became a problem a really good friend of mine took me on a holiday for a week, no drugs no alcohol, hell not even cigarettes, first 3 days were the hardest days of my life.. 4th day we went to a live performance of HIM, it was in a small bar, maybe 25 people were in that night and at the first note they played, i got shivers, started to get really emotional and after just 2 songs i really felt that i had to change every single thing in my life otherwise i wouldn't make it past 23.. the music hit me so hard that evening and still does to this day this band really changed my life a full 180 degrees around.. i quit the drugs, alcohol and the overall toxic lifestyle i was living, only bad habit im still guilty of is smoking cigarettes but at least i live a normal, happy, healthy life.. and all of that.. thanks to this amazing band

Finally, all the music of Gothic Rock or any other Gothic style of music has an actual deep meaning behind it and does not sugarcoat the truth and, since people can not handle the truth due to them being the chickenshits they are, they cower away like a dog with their tail between their legs. Continue to listen to what you like and if they have a problem with it tell them to "go choke and die"
