I like applying some of tool's lyrics to some of my daily experiences because they're music is to be used as a tool for self development while enjoying the insights one gets while paying attention to the music/message.

this song lyrics n all the concepts in it are straight outta the book Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk! (one of his best & MnT personal favorites)Not saying Maynard stole or ripped off his idea or anything stupid like that. just that well...he's a great author who was very popular for awhile among counter culture non mainstream groups of ppl which ppl like Maynard (& Marilyn Manson who has, word for word, referenced parts of books/writing in general, in some of his songs)so perhaps Maynard was inspired n influenced by this book: Haunted (which was published in 2005) and the album 10,000 Days which this song is from came out 2006. so it's possible...n cool to think about 2 of my favorite artists of 2 different types n mediums inspiring n influencing eachother.if u want to see what I'm talking about read the book, especially the Chapter & Poem about the character Mr. Whittier, you'll see what i mean, his speech is very similar to these lyrics which is just a raw condensed version of the philosophy n main concept of the entire book.

Always loved Schism. Didn't dive into Tool until tonight. Started watching more videos. Gotta say, with my depression of 36 years, not a good avenue for me. Don't know why i didn't realize it before.
