To simple drums, but still nice!
They're very underrated love Survivor with both singers
The plain truth, yet so many gold diggers don't, or won't get it.
The plain truth, yet so many gold diggers don't, or won't get it.
great song but I wish the opening section went on longer than it did.
THE SONGS HAVE MEANING
How did Wikipedia bring people here
Another great song from a great band
RIP Mr Stephan Ellis. Your bass playing was right where it needed to be... In the pocket.
When I first heard the intro I actually thought the song was gonna be a ballad, little did I know the song would be an uptempo rocker, I wish they could have done more with the intro section.
Love this damn song.
This song is SHEAR GENIUS !!!!
Dave Bickler is performing in our town on May 26th! I WILL BE THERE for his concert!
The drums in this song are perfect in groove and dynamics. Perfect work between bass and drums to drive the groove, too. I love how, in the outro, he switches over to bell shots on the ride and it just adds a different feel altogether. This song is almost perfect in every way.
Great song although I wish they could have done more with the opening intro, to me it's the intro that makes the song a classic.
i got nothing but love for Jimi but the fact that Dave was forced out of survivor don't know how i feel about that but do what you gotta do right
I miss survivor i may only be like 12 but my dad was a die hard fan i was raised listening to survivor every day, every night love this band like my dad did before i stopped seeing him.
not me, but me son make me cry
What a Song!!!
It's 1980 something I just got back from mom and pop video rental. It's Friday night and I just popped in any 80s action movie into my very large VCR. Drinking Cherry Coke, eating popcorn and gummi bears sitting in a bean bag chair. Ahhhhh the 80s.
Favorite Survivor song, followed closely by Burning Heart, and Is This Love
This is awesome!
yea i blast this song while i throw pieces of burnt toast at old people so what
Lauren Reed they have burnt toast at quick-e-mart ?
Survivor are really underrated !
If you ask me, none of their material compares to the way this album kicked ass.
Sorry but whoever disliked this song is a fucking idiot. I have a variety of tastes from punk rock to J-Pop, and this is one fine song. Survivor in their prime.
this should get a billion hits!
💕Love this! 💗
There should be MORE than 105, 424 views...Such a kickass rock and roll song that hardly gets airplay nowadays.
The guitar solo on this is one of my favs ! 😊 🎸
Hell yeah!
Wow, the song hit me really....
always reminded me of foreigner crossed with toto lol.
Nice music
Fun fact, this was the song Stallone heard before asking Survivor to write a theme to Rocky 3
No no! You are wrong. It was Vehicle
"Vehicle" wasn't a Survivor song - it was an Ides of March song that was released in 1970.
Love this song!
Too bad Survivor didn't get the recognition deserved for songs and albums such as this.
Sadly, they were never that big in the US which was too bad. They were huge in Japan though
Survivor sold millions of records in the US. This was a hit, but after "Eye of the Tiger," they were at another level of success
I gotta agree with Brittany. To suggest they weren't that big is misleading. They had quite a few TOP 40 hits in the mid 80's - I'd say between 1983 and 1985 they did alright . Their songs got significant airplay on top 40 radio formats and Mtv. I think their image wasn't "heavy" enough and for this style of music Bon Jovi basically took over the market by 1986
Love this album!
always loved this band with both singers. saw them live. they put on one hell of a show.
Caught in the game is good too
That song truly kicked ass!
Caught in the game is their best song imo.
Dave Bickler the original voice of SURVIVOR
And future voice of Bud Light's "Real American Heroes/Real Men of Genius" campaign back in the '00s.
Robert Bittinger Yes..and the best!
This song makes me feel like a cross between Chuck Norris and jackie Chan.I feel like I could Karate chop Mr. Miyagi's Bonsai tree off Bruce Jenner's lap.
+Michael David Cilantro you mean Caitlyn Jenner... :-P
Bruce just sounded so tough though
It was the best explanation 'bout something I've ever read in my life. Congrats, Michael.I've got this same impression. I associate this to 80's movies.
nice song .....
this song kicks ass
This is Dave Bickler, isnt it?
yes it is, I always thought they were better when Dave Bickler sang for them.
MelekBetul poor man san
Yes..their first and BEST singer!
I used to play this on my guitar when I was in 9th grade. Bad ass jam!
Ahh, the song that inspired the "Eye of the Tiger", thanks to Sly Stallone
Steve F mee too i like rocky bulboa
No, you couldn't be more wrong about these lyrics. Not hating, bit you're prob too young to understand it.
one of my favorite Survivor songs that didn't get the recognition that it truly deserved, I think it's just as great as "Eye Of The Tiger", "The Search Is Over" and "Burning Heart"
Doobie1975 Those are my favorite along with..."Is this love", "I can't hold back", & I can't hold back
@Justyn's Games Lol you listed "I Can't Hold Back" twice. You must REALLY like that song.
Doobie1975 my ffriend listen to first night such a good one
Doobie1975 ikr
THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS EYE OF THE TIGER !
love this song, definitely one of their underrated hits, I love the intro to this song.
This my favorite song I like to stand naked on my roof and do karate moves and point at people while this play loud
+Ka Boom That's pure genuis
I only do that after oxycodon and fresh squeezed blood orange chaser...hey...for me it works!
Ka Boom Hope you still keep that up three years later! That was the best comment in quite a while.
Me and my buddy laughed until we cried when we read this shit. Thanks man
Of course u do, your name is Ka Boom!
Great tune man. Loved this band since '81. Damn we're getting old! Lol!
Thanks for the lyrics. The song is awesome too! Baran
Great song. Thank you very much for uploading it!
good and kool!!! great Rhythm!
"Got a bad guitar and a simple song".... Just classic!
Everyone plays "Eye Of The Tiger" or "Burning Heart". Everyone forgets about this obscure little gem from the Survivor catalog.
I think this is a better song than "Eye Of The Tiger" or "Burning Heart" but an even better song than this was the previous (first) album's single "Somewhere In America."
The song that led to Eye of the Tiger. For an inspirational story, please read the award winning book Rocky Spirit, the Rocky Balboa connection to success available on amazon.com.
me too
Same here. I'd never heard this song before.
Actually, wikipedia brought me here.
quoted from Wiki.....so it must be true....
"You're a rich man's daughter...."
Should have charted way higher than #33. Great song.
I believe Dave Bickler should come back to the group. After all, he sang their biggest hit, 'Eye of the tiger'.
Survivor hit #33 in Billboard, 12-12-81. God bless you, friend, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed New Year!
Been eons since I heard this. It is a lost and underrated lost classic by Survivor no doubt.
JUST A CLASS ALBUM...
Thanks for posting this amamzing song.'Eye of the Tiger' is so over-played that some of their other tunes go unnoticed....the vocals on this track are amazing...'Somewhere in America' is also great...
In 1982 Survivor's breakthrough arrived when actor Sylvester Stallone asked them to provide the theme song for his movie Rocky III. Stallone had heard their single "Poor Man's Son" and wanted a song similar to it. The band agreed to write him a song and soon released "Eye of the Tiger". The new song featured a faster tempo while still incorporating the stylish, nearly identical power chords. (bron: Wiki)
FIRST!!! yet again. it's all you hear.
