Loreena what can I say. You gave great joy and a benchmark.
One of the best.
An absolutely gorgeous song. That electric guitar is haunting. Beautiful.
So beautiful and yet so heartbreaking
This song makes me cry, I'm unsure why...
(Squall Leonhart) Donnie the song is speaking to your soul
I wonder if this song was around centuries ago, how would it be received?
Her music is so wonderful.

@Spicer Cook The song was inspired by a trip to Doolin, County Clare, Ireland. A beautiful little Irish town known for it's music.

Minha musica preferida de lorenna
Lyrics:The thundering waves are calling me homeHome to youThe pounding sea is calling me homeHome to youOn a dark new year's nightOn the west coast of ClareI heard your voice singingYour eyes danced the songYour hands played the tuneT'was a vision before meWe left the music behindAnd the dance carried onAs we stole away to the seashoreWe smelt the brineFelt the wind in our hairAnd with sadness you pausedSuddenly I knew that you'd have to goYour world was not mine, your eyes told me soYet it was there I felt the crossroads of timeAnd I wondered whyAs we cast our gaze on the tumbling seaA vision came o'er meOf thundering hooves and beating wingsIn clouds aboveTurning to go, I heard you calling my nameLike a bird in a cageSpreading its wings to flyThe old ways are lost, you sang as you flewAnd I wondered why
We left the music behind and the dance carried on
I have been using this song as a sound test for my hi-fi components since the 90s. The thundering drums at the beginning reveal the low-frequency power of the system, and Loreena's ethereal vocals really put the midrange to the test. However, after a little while, the pure magic of this song takes over: I forget about the technicalities and the divine music is the only thing that matters...
I love that. Agree. If I had the chance, I would constantly listen to this one song
So what you're saying is that this song is terrible for a sound test because you get lost in the divinity of it each and every time? :)
Lindo demais...... traz paz de espirito!
Que preciosidad, =)
being old an full of metal, this keeps the storm at bay. thank you.
Merci beaucoup⌛☺🙏👍
i fucking love this
Merveilleuse artiste
This song is like a dream to me, when I hear it I always dream abt sitting on an ancient beautiful beach at night of a round moon, with someone I can't recognise yet feel deeply in love with, after a while he gets up and leaves me and it breaks my heart....so I sit still there thinking about it looking at the blackish waves hitting the shore infront of me...
Marwa R, The very same dream since I first heard this many years ago. A different lifetime long ago. He was going off to battle across the sea and I was staying behind to honor peace, home and earth.
Marwa R I have a similar vision but at sunset with tall grass flowing in the wind on top of the hills that slope down to the beach, and the wind blowing in the woman’s hair, and the ocean spray sound so subtle in the distance
I have a vision of a fantasy-land, with grassy dunes and with a beach and a sunset. There's 0:20 a Phoenix-like creature flying around. At 0:35 the female partner flies over as well. Right after her, there's a large group of gallopping wild horses, that keep gallopping around. Around 0:58 there's a darker phoenixlike creature, trying to murder/take away one of the phoenixes, but you can hear they fight for each other's live and they fight off the creature and together they survive. Then a woman walks across the beach, looking at a merman in the waves. "The thundering waves, the pounding sea is calling me home, home to you." His hands played the tune, he was singing (like a male, friendly siren.)He lured her (in a friendly way) into the water, where they danced together and stole their way to the seashore. But in sadness he paused. (he has a tail, he can't go further than that seashore, he can't walk.)Suddenly she knew, that he'd have to go, her world was not his, his eyes told her so. Both of them looked across the sea, a vision came over her, of thundering hooves (the wild horses) and beating wings (the phoenixes) in the clouds above. After he turns and calls out her name, she is about to leave, but since the sea keeps calling her louder and louder, she turns around and runs back into the sea, while the phoenixes and horses run and fly around and celebrate her good decision to stay with the merman and lóve (even if it's a difficult situation with one living on land and one in the sea) and the phoenix cries a happy sound, as if saying; 'Me and my partner overcame everything as well, you guys can do this too.' And then he turns around, she storms into his arms, they hug, he lifts her up and they hug, and then presumably he carries her to an island where she can live to be with him. The whole stereotypical siren-drowning-scenario doesn't seem to match the song so, in my mind, they live happily ever after.
It was about her deep lost and she made a very beautiful song of that
Does anyone else have a sudden desire to dance around a bonfire naked?

My alarm clock :)
Okay, now you're scaring me. I wanted to set a song as an alarm clock after watching a youtuber's recommendation tp help with not hitting snooze in the morning. I asked what I should set it as. 'Loreena McKennitt!' kept coming up in my head and I was compelled to click on this song. I'll take your comment as the sign I needed. ;)
