LUIS MIGUEL IS BETTER!
Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri stop just stop don’t say that Luis Miguel is better than Frank Sinatra 😂🖖🏻
This is amazing i was born in tje wrong generation
The most beautiful and talented singer that has ever walked the earth. No other human could ever sing so purely and honestly. Rest in Peace to the King of Swing.
FUK LUKY STRIKE !!!!
Ive seen vids of him later in life, but i like seeing them in their younger years. I love Nat King Cole's version, but this was also beautiful. Such a treat to watch.
Question: When, again? Answer: Never again.
The most beautiful and only version
the best of...
What’s the name of the band leader who’s conducting the orquestra I couldn’t hear the name very well
Never mind me...just stopped by to wash Michael Buble out of my ears. Christmas time is tough for a Buble hater.
You can fit the entire band in that jacket.
One of my very favourites. Just Beautiful.
smokin and boozin destroyed what once was a great voice
This is so overwhelmingly incredible I have no words
I hope this never gets deleted
There's a lofi version of this song as well. Can someone tell me the title of it please?
He's was too skinny for that suit! :)
Wasnt Frank just amazing?!
At the age of 28 here, Frank Sinatra was a seasoned singing artist, and a consummate professional. You can see this @1:29, where he cues "The Hit Paraders" singers (on his stage left), with a mere glance over towards them (conductor be damned!). He was a perfectionist who really had the talent and the chops that justified his perfectionism. Some say he inherited this trait from Tommy Dorsey (whom Mr. Sinatra stated was the only person he truly feared, other than his own mother).
Sooooo young
This was when America was great.
This was the Sinatra who made the girls scream and faint in the aisles. The most romantic balladeer ever. This was Frank the seducer, not Frank the swinger of the 1950's. His singing here is perfectly controlled and balanced, beautiful vibrato. Later on, his voice lost its glow although he created a new persona and a new, swinging, sound. But for my taste, this early period was his best singing.
Soy latino hasta las venas, pero parece k Dios me puso en un lugar y tiempo equipado. Amo estas bellas canciones!!
yes me too.I love this😀😀😀😎😎😎😎💃💃💃🎼🎼🎵🎵🎶🎵🔥🔥🔥
The only journalist I ever knew or heard of, who sang like this. They're usually far too boozed.
A great vocal and and even greater vocalist.
Why did he look so nervous
We have arrived at Swoon Central. Please remain seated until the bobby soxers have left the building.
Hey, Ronan! Your old man was the tops
My grandfather love Frank Sinatra so much.
Wasn't this performance, in 1943 or was it in 1950. Is this Tommy Dorsey orchestra, or Alex Stohrdal orchestra band. But I think it is the early 1940s, because Frank is wearing the famous bow-tie & curly hair look of his young era. I don't know?
Absolute master of the voice at this point and what was he, 27?
Mark Warnow, the orchestra leader, died in 1949 at the age of 36. His brother (who went by the name of Raymond Scott) took over the Hit Parade Orchestra.
Thank you for naming the orchestra leader I was trying to find out the name of the conductor

Wait is this the song from goodfelles
Kroger still sells lucky strikes. They aren't as harsh as I'd heard, but I smoke a pipe so..
frank starts @ 0:25
ive been curious how they use to record the audio back in those days?
Foo Hoe Vincent Low it was the plugins, voices, microphones, and tv, but you could watch him if u were alive and there, Frank Sinatra was the last best jazz singer.
XxCalvin Ohrtxx i bet he was
Kenny Delmar, announcer.
I want a cigarrette
Perfect! He makes it look so effortless. I can see my grandparents dancing to this in heaven.
Sinatra singing stardust warmed the heart of many loneley and anxious couples separated by war never knowing if or when they would be reuinited.
Some people should live young forever..
He's got the kind of smile that could ruin your life.
why is he so beautiful!?
Never does FAS slide from the top. Forever the very best of what humans have as song.
I was born in the wrong era.
OMGWTFLOL could never get into the beatles. You like rhcp?
no u weren't.
@OMGWTFLOL why are you here then. leave.
at least be grateful that you were born in the first place.
@OMGWTFLOL the Beatles and Frank Sinatra are both good. Just because Sinatra is not your cup of tea does not mean that he is not good.
"Smoking Kills You", hahaFuck you, antismoking shits.
its why i am still sucking lucky strike
Ahh 1943 I was still alive!
Adolf Hitler I liked you better when you were dead lol how was life in South America? Did your fiance Eva go with you?
Me too I was born in 1800
Best of the best Francis Albert Sinatra.........Chairman of the board.
jyn erso
Such a warm soul..
TY for the upload, the younger 'Blue Eyes' always my favorite version! :-)
for many years i was comparing Elvis to Sinatra...and recently i have realized Sinatra had won the test of time...by far.
@ClarusCG 😂😂 I really don't think so. Some might know Sinatra because of Christmas songs but he's not as popular as Elvis. And Elvis in his early years looks even pretty similar the way boys are looking today (Talkin about hair)
@ClarusCG Where did you get that from? Even with the vinyl record resurgence, Elvis continues to be the best selling deceased artist, year after year.
Frank was good. Elvis was good. Comparing the two is ridiculous.
The Humungus exactly
Whats he got to do with this? Why you bringing elvis into this? He fucked your mom or something? Hahahaha just kidding Eli, i love Elvis and Frank... there irrelevant to each other so fuck thoughts bro. All thoughts are temporary n not solid anyways... speaking of anyways, anyway have a good life and God bless and infinite love to you Eli! Word! ❤
wheres the blackman
Isn't this his first performance?
Nax Alax nope. I think his first performance was in the mid 1930s
Is it just me or is he lip singing?
I think the audio is out of sync
Love this. I wish that background hiss could be removed for a clearer sound.
He was one of the best!
Great!!!
Nice, but I prefer it when they sing the verse too.
You got that right. That verse is sublime. And Sinatra apparently thought so too: Later in his career he recorded the verse ALONE as if to compensate for it being "slighted" so regularly. As lovely as the usually-sung song is, the verse is even more beautiful. I believe the great Mitchell Parish wrote the lyrics, which start off (if I recall right): "And now the purple dusk(t?) of twilight, steals across the meadows of my heart ...". Wow.
Don Skoller PLEASE HELP ME FIND THAT
Yeah, it was recorded for his Sinatra and Strings album. In fact the one with just the verse is easier to find than the one he cut with Tommy Dorsey. Overall, it such a pretty song, and Sinatra owned it every time he sang it.
Cuán estupendo video. Un tesoro. Cómo lo disfruté conociendo. Se va derecho a mi Colección de Favoritos. Gracias, por compartir; sí, de veras agradecido. Y ahora, a buscar más en tu Canal.
Such a beautiful performance by a beautiful man. Love seeing him sing this song live <3 wish I could've seen him perform live :(
OH GOD THIS IS BEAUTIFUL UGH
Happy Birthday Frank
Happy 100th, Mr. Frank Sinatra.
loves refrain...
The excessive orchestration detracts from a song whose complexity is best conveyed with simplicity. Interesting to see Tommy Dorsey (?) and Frank Sinatra in 1943. (Did Tommy Dorsey conduct for "Your Hit Parade"?)
+Steven Torrey Nothing is excessive about the orchestration and they are not distractions, the song and orchestra are live, not digital's like the no singing so called singers and digital scenes that are orchestrated digital fakes that we see today, who if they asked to sing a tune live, they would have to be carried it in their digital pockets.Respectfully
+dolphinsc1 Yet, listen to Nat "King" Cole sing "Stardust" where his vocalization carries the song without the heavy orchestration. Thanks for your observation.
@Steven TorreyI guess it all boils down to a matter of taste in music.
This is an amazing documentation of a moment in the career one of the most important singers, entertainers, and musicians of the 20th century.Look at his face:It's as though his "talent" is an entity that inhabits him, and which he barely knows how to control. After "From Here to Eternity," and the LP, "In the Wee Small Hours," he takes control of that "talent..." Completely.
"My stardust melody......"
Beautiful song. Frank was the best.
@Gabriel Coronado Well, yes, I guess that if one was a Frank Sinatra fan (and, more so, if one was a fan, "big time", so to speak) then one might think that - but to me, the one singer, that stands alone, when it comes to "Stardust" is, absolutely, Nat King Cole - his version is the one that truly "cuts the mustard" (Then again, I admit to being a huge fan of his (even at 15 years of age, I got a dreadful shock when he died, and cried, on and off for the next couple of days!!)
Looking at Frank one has to wonder what would have become of him if he had not had a voice? Gangster perhaps?
@Fedproman He probably would of been working at a factory.
he was 5'8.
mac tonight lil bit shorter. Google wrong but he wasn't all that tall.
Fedproman he's probably be shot up in the war.
@JAVY yeah I've read that he was 5'7 ½, so he certainly wasn't tall. He looks tall here cause he was super lanky in his younger years.
So nice to know... Thanks
This is probably the most convincing thing in the world for me to smoke a lucky strike
@euronomous segovia So rich and full of flavor!
Lucky Strike means fine tobacco!
whoa !!
You don't see MARLBORO signs backdropping the Grammy Awards!#
I'm only 11 but I'd prefer to listen to this 999999999999999999 times more than today's music!!!
The most popular modern music is pretty bad, but you only have to look a few steps down for some real classy and well crafted stuff. Great artists in every era do exist. This song however is truly a masterpiece that will most likely still be known a few hundreds of years after it was originally produced. Stardust is on another level...it's truly epic.
Stuart NUrse why not make it an infinite amount of times better?
Stuart NUrse I'm 15 Frank is the best. I act like a Bobby Soxer whenever I see his beautiful face 😍
This is my favorite performance of my favorite version of my favorite song by my favorite singer. Thanks for uploading yo YouTube.
Sigh . . . . Oh, what a dream.
MARAVILLOSO.......INCREIBLEMENTE BELLO......EN TODOS LOS SENTIDOS......YA PUDIERAN TOMAR EJEMPLO NUESTROS CANTANTES ACTUALES...........TENER....CLASE...ELEGANCIA....CANTAR.....Y DAR ESE DON DEL ALMA PARA SENTIR LA VIDA
Anjuli, there are ALWAYS exceptions to any rule!Still: If you listen to recordings of Mom in her twenties vs. today, there will typically be a change in timbre---based on physiological changes over the years which have nothing to do with competence, awesome-ness, etc. It's simply the process of aging, and its effect on the voice.Having said that, I respect that your Mom sounds great to you even now. That was not my point re: Mr. Sinatra.Just saying that I personally enjoyed his younger sound.
This was during Frank's initial tenure as the "star" of Luckies' "YOUR HIT PARADE" on radio.
I disagree, Thalia. My mother is a classically trained singer, and sounds at 84 every bit as good as she sounded at 35 -- no tremolo, no quavering, and even more emotional control.
Sure she does...
Take that Michael Buble !!!!
Michael Buble is like Wayne Newton was. Looks ridiculous and is basically a mimic with a little boy's voice.
Michael buble is not as good as him, but it’s also good.
Star buono Why? He’s keeping the music alive. You should be thankful for that.
I love early Frank Sinatra. My father, a professional singer, always said, that the "voice goes" by sixty. I believe it...No disrespect to older singers--They have depth and breadth AND life experience...Still, there is something pure and innocent about a youthful, joyful voice..Mr. Sinatra here, is a beautiful and innocent babe....
You bring up an interesting point. A young voice is nice to hear, and Frank does sound great and is full of expression. But with many young singers they have not had the life experience yet to pour emotion into a song. And the voice can last a lot longer than 60 if it is taken care of. Bad technique can ruin a voice.
Good singer!
What a babe--I would definitely have been one of those screaming, swooning girls! Seeing him sing--I now know why my Mother sighed longingly at even the mention of his name. Compared with me & The Beatles...
SparxFlyin' Sparx I would swoon as well. he is such a dreamboat 😍😍😍
best ever..........
What made Sinatra so much better than other singers , past and present, was not only his great vocal ability, but the expression on hisface. Always a smile on his face, he always looked like he enjoyed singing. Contrast that with present day singers who seem to have painful expressions and seem to be in agony.
So true
century123ful Not in agony. They look like they're constipated... I guess that could be counted as agony....
Frank Sinatra’s 1943 voice which this performance is from has never been and will never be imitated or equaled again. His older voice has many imitators but his 1940’s voice has never been successfully imitated.
Him and Dean and Sam and that whole era were the kings of music hands down
@Anthony Mistrulli I can kind of imitate it
Such a treat to see Sinatra in the beginning of his career. And the song is beautiful even if it is a cigarette commercial! Could listen to him sing all night.
I dont care if you dont like this but you have to at least apperciate the breathe control and timing
Mark Warnow directing the orch; his unexpected death prompted hiring of his brother, the amazing Raymond Scott: musician-inventor-composer extraordinaire. His son's video biography is a great tribute, avail for purch on line
Damn skin and bones......
I agree 100%
Frank Sinatra un gran cantante con su romanticismo invita enamorar a una chica y seducirla a la forma clasica
Love this!! Thanks for uploading!
