When i listen to this , i really feel how much bass guitar is important in a rock group. Just Bravo !!!! ☺☺☺
Kill the reggaeton.
Alan is beautiful, John a gently, Mark is single.
This is probably the most epic love tale ever told. And it is a very "mainstream" love story, actually: a man and a woman met at the Luna Park. But the Music, OMG, THE MUSIC.
......❤😢😚🌟
I was working in London, loving what I was doing but desperately wanted to be home in Manchester. This, and many others Dire Straights songs , got me through.
This song gets younger by the year.
Best solo ever
I just found this Masterpiece today listening to the radio. i struggled but i found it!!!
Truly mesmerising. This rendition makes me feel emotions I forgot I even had. Thanks boys.
Dont forget the Town Moor :)
I was 14 when that tune was on the radio, we used to drive our motorcycle blind straight during 200/300 meters when listening to that song on our walkmans
I had to remove this CD from the car audio sistem.this music was driving me crazy...
Awesome!!!
Let's not forget these GREAT players in that tour.... John Illsley, bass ....Alan Clark, keyboards ....Hal Lindes, guitar...Terry Williams, drumsTommy Mandel, keyboards ...Mel Collins, saxophone ...Joop de Korte, percussionAnd of course, the irreplaceable Mark Knopfler
You've just got to take your hats off to all those band members the hard work and amount of practice gone into sounding that good amazing live performance 👏
And with that, I see no reason to watch any more youtube music videos. What's the point?
Mark HAS to go down as one of the best guitarist s EVER. The end rift is out of this world!
The audience are like awwed the whole time
I love this song <3 ..
It's just finger picking good!
Thumbs down????????? must be Bay CIty Rollers fans or Soft Cell no! Shaking Stevens!! get serious guys this is great music from a very very talented band with a guitar god in the form of the gifted front man Mark Knopfler. Long may we enjoy a era of great great music..something about these great english guitarist they just hit the right emotions in their music.
All band members made this song so infinitely beautiful not only Mark .......
2.30.., Stop in the Name of Love :)
Alchemy's version was fantastic, this one is...better, incredible...intro is a perfect hommage to jungleland of springsteen, guitar solos are from an other world, terry williams on drums is incredible, that is what i'm calling music
Por sobre todas las cosas es una canción hermosa, a eso hay que agregarle un solo extraordinario y una melodía deliciosa, me encanta el piano en este tema.Para mi gusto , el mejor tema de Dire Straits y en cada versión una belleza nueva.Gracias Mark !!
I know everyone loves the big outro, so do I, but right before the big outro, are some super tasty bits. While the video is playing, hit 7 on your keyboard. Takes you right to the beginning of some down tempo choice little phrases.
Greatest live version song maybe ever, a master guitarist indeed (Gilmour-ist) can't play this over-n-over enough and to hear the cool 12:31 and 12:36 strings (how does he do that?) is so waaay cool. Will he ever play Tunnel of Love live again? I'd kill for that concert if he did. Man... a one-off concert of DS members playing there best tunes like this together just one more time.... pleeeease!
Just so brilliantly brilliant... 16 minutes, and It's not at all been boring to me.Just perfection, and everything was in its place. Thanks...
Legacy.
Save the best til last.
A band at the height of their skill.
Can anyone name song of the intro sax part
My dream...Knopfler agrees to reform in 2020. Just 10 shows at the o2 Monty Python style. No frills just 3 hours of DS classics. I love his solo tours and music but...just one last time...
789789 D i wish but it’ll never happen unfortunately
Neon burning, up above!
☆☆☆☆☆Fantastic ☆☆☆☆☆
Man I love the tone he got out of these beautiful Schecters.
So do I. A lot of warmth in the sound if you know what i mean.
That guitar solo takes me back to being 13 emotional .
Pause at 1:16... magic hands!
'Song about being in love, song about being in a band"...... fuck yeah
Where have I been. I've never heard this song before and I am a 70s kid. Thanks for posting.
I actually feel quite envious of you. Although I never, ever tire of this masterpiece, I kinda wish I'd never heard it. Just so I could hear it again for the first time.
@Mr B Mars ?
@gary shannon Say what? You're replying to the wrong person I reckon.
What the fuck? 444 bitches clicked thumb down. How is that possible? Its a fucking insult
It makes me sad that i was born too late (2000) to see Dire Straits together. I just hope i get a chance to see Mr. Knopfler some Day. I Will start saving when i get a Job, so i could take a flight and go see his concert.
one of the most amazing drummer i have ever listened to : it's one of my fav drummer , Terry Williams rules! the true ones know it :) amazing intro of this amazing song : 2 amazing things: )
爱你们!
我一直在寻找心灵和现实的桥梁,目前我以为它是行动。
is there even a human on this world ever in history and will there ever be a single man even remotely as rediculously gifted guitarist as Mark Knopfler? never will there be. And that guitarist paired with the Dire Straits, that is the top of the world. Ain't nothing better. nothing. at. all. the synergy on that stage. just, wow. i'd invent time travel just to be there.
how do you compose a song like this. It's got a intro of 2 minutes, chorus of 6 minutes, 2 guitar solos, ending 4 minutes. and it has such a good build up.
'cause it's composed by musicians. Real musicians, I mean, not kids with keyboards
This is one of the greatest rock songs ever written, by anyone. Love ya, Mark and the Straits.
Without question, one of the greatest live guitar solos ever !
Para mí , uno de los mejores guitarristas de toda la historia de la música
Words can't explain how much I love the intro!
Enrico Maria Castaldo ..One of my all time FAVOURITES.
Rock'n roll sublime grazie Dire Straits
Terry Williams (drummer) superb. Can’t make up my mind if this track or Sultans of Swing is one of his greatest performances. Both live performances are superb
Perfection!
f*****g WOW
My fellow-Geordie, Mark Knopfler, is the greatest guitarist and songwriter ever! His music moves me like none other.Tunnel of LoveRomeo & JulietSultans of SwingOne Song at a TimeSailing to PhiladelphiaWhat it is...
some nice punch in those instruments
The Alchemy Live version from 1983 is better.
In 1985 I made a huge mistake, I had a choice see Dire Straits live at Wembley Arena, or Bruce Springsteen at Wembley Stadium, I went to an incredible Concert, but missed out on seing 1 of the greatest bands of all time...yup I went to see Springsteen!
Best Guitar solo - - -Tunnel of Love??, Sultans of Swing??, Telegraph Road?? Mark makes this decision quite difficult. Guess I'll just have to go with all three.....wait....but what about Local Hero??, or the Long Road Home?? Damn :-) :-)
Kevin Lawton it's impossible isn't it. They are all the best if that's even possible
I'm always sad about that second part of the breakdown at 7:05 could've been even longer and more funky with the licks and chops. Sort of like in Down To The Waterline. Even though I like him the best with proper solos like in Sultans of Swing.
Everyone talks about Knopflers guitar in this, but the drum line is equally excellent
Joseph Francis Terry Williams was a monster behind the kit. One hell of a drummer
Their best intro imo. Was there in 85, Clarkie is an underrated keyboard player, also imo.
This is........ Forever...
Why????? 430 dislikes.... I`m felling sorry for you...
Really fine find Al, how did you get it? Think it over.
Non servono parole
This song is able to make the sky fall 🌌
Grande Mark.
still gives me goosebumps
Look around all you want. You won’t find anything better than this.
Shit i wish i was there... gonna c mk in sweden soon, but its nothing like this ;P
A classic master piece by Dire Straits. The arrangement is totally unbelievable especially the guitar solo by Mark Knopfler at the end. I wish there could be another band like this. A wishful thinking I guess.
kids now don't know what music is
How the fuck do you rehearse this? This is extraordinary musicians coming together in a moment of time to produce something absolutely amazing
He’s one of the great guitarist of all time
Really admire his talent
The king...Marck.xauuuuuu.
at some point, you take stock of yourself, and weep Knoplfer will make it easier
Speechless
io dico straits
Pero es que nadie se da cuenta de que la introducción al piano es lo mejor de este tema que es alguien lo sabe
Que es esta introducción alguien lo sabe
Knopfler = genius.
Down-voters have neither seen a tunnel nor will they know love.
Why is this intro not on the record ???
10:12 my tears starts to fall
Grande música das melhores..mas o Marck...parte tudo a tocar guitarra. .
😍😍😍

Stupid Google didn't get the right video
Mark bring out his beautiful soul through music. Such a humble legend.
as in life, every note counts
the subtlety and touch he plays with is ridiculous
