I'm 60 this year. Been impressed with many musicians over the years, but there will NEVER be any musical experience that was more captivating than seeing David and his band from Hull playing Preston, Lancashire, UK on his Ziggy tour.

Luckily I saw him at Bingley Hall Stafford brilliant concert he had a salior out fit on and dancing in his style no one could compare with him

I did like him when I was young in the 70's but in my older years now 66 I just can't believe I didn't go mad about him back then.

The music industry gave a platform to oddballs and weirdos to sing songs about their bizarre view of the world and messed up thoughts running through their heads. Some had talent, and some didn’t. David Bowie was one of them.

I hated hippies as a kid in the 60s and started listening to Bowie because it was as far as possible from hippies. I graduated to the Stooges and used to love blasting them at full blast at the park just to watch hippies scatter like cockroaches

Here's some of Bowie's very best. '72. Yep, uh huh that's what we said.Leper messiah sucked up into his mind. I assumed everyone on planet earthwas fluent on this, so loaded.

I was 16 when my best friend and I attended Bowie's first US show. It was September 22, 1972 at Cleveland's Music Hall in downtown Cleveland. I didn't really know who he was, but the audience sure did! I'd never seen anything like it before - he was amazing, bizarre, fascinating, and held the audience in thrall! Beethoven's 9th symphony, 4th movement (synthesized) and off-beat strobe lights opened the show as Ziggy and the band seemed to just appear on stage out of nowhere! Despite his glam appearance and fey movements, he rocked hard and gave a performance I'll never forget! So glad my sister talked me into going! :)
