My late step-dad introduced me to this album when I was 10yrs old... He would hand me the 70's headphones and then let me blast it to my hearts content... Bowie turned the music industry on it's arse with his eccentric avant garde genius.... Hunky Dory instantly became one of my favourite albums, and I can see Steve chuckling in my minds eye right now, as I sang my head off totally out of tune.... with the big foamy headphones on my little head.... There are a lot of references to Nietzsche in Hunky Dory, it’s clear that Bowie was greatly influenced by him at that time (as well as by Aleister Crowley). This song in special seems to be about the coming of the new generation of Übermenschen, the Homo Superior
