I'm afraid you're wrong. This song was written by Cher's husband Sonny Bono in 1966. Cher was the first singer to record it. Her version was a huge hit, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the first half of 1966. Nancy Sinatra's version was released the same year and never made any Billboard chart. Sinatra's version only became known after it was used as the theme song for the movie Kill Bill in 2003.
