3:13 that lick I've heard it before but where?
テ―マ演奏がメッセンジャーズらしい感じでいい。😃サンキュー😉👍🎶
Might just be my favorite recorded version.
do somebody knows a version in wich they keep the drummer off doing that solo shit?
thatssss my tempo now
Them shits kick in at 2:36.
Non c'è bisogno di commentare...senza parole!!!!
So nice
Anyone else puzzled by the voice in the far right ear? Is that Blakey vocalizing as he's drumming?
Ah yeah, you can see him doing it here - he's a very vocal drummer!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_wkmYK40S0
Are you rushing or dragging? Answer me !!!
Fuck Whiplash
Andrew Coker fuck you
Thank you lmao
Fuck you, Andrew Crackhead.
And fuck u to
i think those motherfuckers are rushing and dragging like motherfuckers
Holy fuck, is this ever my new favorite version of Caravan.
My father, when he was alive, used to play me Stephane Grappelli's version of this. It's a great version but pales in comparison! And his tempo is far quicker and maybe NOT my tempo
The solos are actually better than the Whiplash's solo. So nicely done~ unlike whiplash's, it's so ugly....
The film maybe aimed at those people who don’t know much about jazz...so, I think it is a kind of compromise
h x xu has a jazz musician myself I can tell you about 90% or more of whiplash movie is so wrong in terms of jazz theory language , but nonetheless it’s a good movie
@Miguel Angelo I think it's cool cause it can maybe get some people into jazz or swing while in highschool and maybe learn how to play music while they still can
@Miguel Angelo maybe three years ago,I was still in high school. I watched this film with my friends... before this movie, I have no idea about jazz, but now, jazz is my favorite music, so i think this movie just open me a new world..also I dream that i can play jazz with my harmonica..hahaha, anyway, I would like to tell others about this movie^-^
h x xu yeah at least that’s a good way to spread this genre:D
Ginger Baker must have listened to a ton of Art Blakey...I hear it here.
Andreas MacAllan Yeah man. Elvin Jones too. Have listened to Phil Seamen? I recommend his solo drum performance “Question and Answer”
HAHA! Baker wasn't even a pimple on Blakeys ass.
THANK YOU
I agree with bananian
why does jazz get no love? it's not bad at all. I'd listen to jazz over most bland rock.
I'd say some of it can get a bit complicated to follow, as oppossed to popular genres. So it doesn't get a lot of love from the general public but for a lot of musicians and music lovers it's the go to style :)I personally love it, as well as rock but I prefer jazz and jazz fusion.
bananian By god, the fuckin' hypocrisy in this comment. Shame on you, my man.
Because Musicians typically don't want to explore other genres of music, when you call their music bland.... Also because there's no economical reason for anyone to play it, most people wont really appreciate the music without understanding the concepts, unlike rock, hip hop, pop, etc. And one of the more popular, gatekeepers, self explanatory, really.
i am dying
David Escue hi dying I'm Tony.
rest in peace
you rushing or dragging?
Crist Maeham r u Russian or Dragon?
@TotalbleShip01 Cizz r u russian or stalin'?
SUUUPER
I was listening to this at age 15...the only white kid in an all-white town...had to keep it a secret...still continues to be one of my all-time favorites...what an ffing drummer!!!!!
Not better at all...in fact it is god-awful. Anyway, peace.
bobby sandsI don't even understand what you're responding to, but you seem to be the kind of person that people strive not to be around. Anyway, peace.
joaosimpson99 hmm, I can understand being all in good humour but when an in-joke like shown here is out of context it can fall apart quickly, same goes for a overused joke; I don't care what tempo you want, go play it yourself then.
Es maravillosa :3
Not quite my tempo.
im here because of it :D
Is he rushing or dragging?
neither mine eh, keep practicing
the amazing thing is he does both, on purpose
Rushing or dragging?
thumbs up if u r watching this after whiplash....;-)
No. Just... no.
And all that comments ' not quite my tempo' <3
missharmless youth think they know it all!
I gave this the Thumbs Up at 0 minutes 7 seconds… ;)
Remember this as one of my Dad's albums I used to listen to growing up. He was a Blues guy, but he had his share of great jazz!
Art, Art, Art
Art-istic :)
Sublime
awesome
Curtis Fuller (trombone), Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), Wayne Shorter (tenor sax), Cedar Walton (piano), and Reggie Workman (bass). With Blakey (drums)
I'm adding this to the description box :)
