Last summer my mom kept insisting I fix a silly cutout arts and crafts elephant shaped pencil holder thing with "I love you mom" written on it's ear I made in 1st grade. The paper was all yellowy and the whole thing looked like garbage. It was falling apart.One day I got pissed, told her to throw that thing in the trash and told her I can't bother with that garbage, as I was working on my classic car I bought. Then I saw my mom go to the trash can next to the driveway slowly, throw away the paper elephant thing and then sadly walk home, I felt terrible.I got my 1st grade art thing out of the trash can, got in my other car, drove to town, got some stuff and made an exact copy of the paper elephant and cut out a plastic cutout to hold the paper in place. Laminated the paper parts and gave her back both of the old one and new one. She teared up and gave me a big hug.Weird thing how a copy of my stupid 1st grade art project made her happier, than the gold watch I got her for her 60th birthday...

I am stationed in Everett Washington in the Navy I never knew how much I could ever miss that woman in my life. She has been a warrior from surviving cancer to being abused by my father she never once gave up on any of her 8 kids

My mom abandoned me when I was young so I never had a true mother until my stepmom came into my life. For those of you who were raised with a true mom, love them and thank them for everything because they could have walked out if your life like mine did but they didn't.

I lost both my parents within a couple years my dad died December 12th 2016 and my mom died January 15th 2019. I'm only 21 years old and you know still figuring out life I'll be going into the U.S. Army and I wish that they were here to see that I'm becoming something, Something that I never thought I would be. I'm getting married next year and neither of them are gonna be here for that. Its wierd how things change in an instant and that you think you're parents will always be there but life hits and when it does it hits you hard. Just gotta move on keep finding a way forward. It never goes away that feeling that you don't have the motherly bond or fatherly bond anymore it always stays you just suppress it. You never forget it just gets a little easier as time passes.

Lost my Mom Jan 26, 2019. May parents and my older sister and myself have always been very close. They would meet for breakfast every Friday and when I was off I would go too and people were amazed that my sister and I still hugged and kissed our parents. If my mom had lived til the end of May she and Dad would've been together for 62 years. As a 47 year old man, let me say this, many kids these days roll their eyes, smart off and fail to realize the love a mother has for her children, well, most mothers at least. The fact that she enjoys seeing you again or hearing your voice again after having just left you 2 hours ago or a day or two ago will just seem strange and it's at that point that you do not understand the love a mother has for her kids. If you are a daughter that marries and eventually has your own kids, you will understand and appreciate that same love as a mom that your mother had for you. Many kids never understand or can comprehend a mother's love and this really goes out to everyone who has been loved by their mom. The moment when the understanding begins is when she is laid to rest and goes home to be with God and it will continue when that first birthday comes around and she is not there to help you celebrate and then that first Mother's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. My Dad turned 80 last year and now it is up to my sister and I to not let him or my mom down and take as much off of him as we can and it is a job that while I am still grieving, I put my grief aside to be strong for him and to be the most faithful and devoted sun that I can be. So please, take it from someone who knows, a mother's love is special and should never be taken for granted. I never understood before, Mama, but I do now. I love you and miss you so much!
