Why does Sia wear a wig? She is making a thoughtful and funny creative statement. As an Aussie it is clear to me that she is "taking the piss" and having a laugh about both herself and the way that people perceive her, about the nature of celebrity. IMO she is also expressing the feeling both of wanting to hide and to be seen which in my experience as a creative are equally powerful. Also if anyone can become Sia when they wear the wig then Sia becomes a meme or ever evolving concept rather than just a limited person similar to Spiderman in the latest movie. Therefore anyone can take on Sia's strength, she is offering her strength to anyone who needs it. But that means there is also less pressure on her as an individual to be something for everyone else. Therefore she can maintain her strength. When she takes off her costume the performance ends and she can just be herself again. She was considering giving up performing because of the scrutiny and this was what she came up with to keep on going. I for one am excited by her solution and how she has been playing around with it. Mixing playfulness with difficult raw emotions has always been her trademark.

I'm obsessed with this video. I have loved Sia for a long time and enjoy watching her evolution. I just wanted to give kudos to the dancer who should be credited for what she adds to this performance! I love the concept of how physically contained Sia remains throughout, barely moving except for her mouth, and the contrast with the dancer who is expressing with every part of her body, including her face, all of the emotions that Sia is keeping hidden inside. Because if this video I realised I love the lyrics to this song for the first time and now also I appreciate the way that she sings them. Being honestly a bigger fan of the execution of old Sia songs than new Sia songs I found Alive too much when I first heard it. Now I get what she is doing when pushes the intensity up so high and keeps it there. Maybe I have changed enough for the directness of the lyrics and the emotional sentiment to resonate with me, when they didn't before. Old and new Sia are just different and I highly respect the progression of her creative journey. You are have always been an inspiration to me. As are all of the others here who love Sia because we must have something in common ❤️
