walter could speak to your soul with his harmonica!
G.Geils BAnd
First listened to this when I was in my young teens, now in my 50s it still gets me. Magic
Recorded in 1952 . . . . No special mic, no special harp amp, no harp pedals . . . just raw talent.
Of course a great talent and technique, one of the best harmonica players ever, but they used valve amps, they chosed the right mic and you can hear a good amount of reverb (listen at 2:49), it's not a pure acoustic sound. These guys invented a new harmonica sound and I think this is part of their talent!
He invented the sound along with Leonard Chess. Never has been duplicated. Not to mention the backing band. The ultimate Chicago blues sound.
Recorded in October 1952...
HOLY S**T!!!! Wow!!!! No doubt that Little Walter was the best!!!
Walter the best ever
Genius at work! Absolutely mind blowing.
Sensational! Haven't heard this before or seen many of these pics
The only harmonica player who matters.
He was a beast!
HOLY MOLY, BLOW, WALTER, BLOW!!
This boogie, boogie woogies down into my soul!
