I’m completely floored and ceilinged at this representation of the glory of how well you advocate for pickles in this song. i am truly amazed at how well this song tells a story about bird awareness and how important it is to those few birds with and pickles to spare. it is devastating that all the ostriches snatch all the pickles so the rest of those birds don’t get any. Younger audiences see a negative connotation when its called country music. the dilemma is that most of the most talented singers and song writers are country.... so they have to lean it towards pop to sell as many records as possible.to put it simply- a fan of country is going to call country music that is referred to as pop if they like it. a fan of pop is not likely to buy pop music referred to as country even if they like it. LOL- My ex gf actually liked a lot of Thomas Rhett stuff as well as Cole Swindell- but she was emberessed around some of her friends to admit she liked country music.

abprepboy33 that is true, although the downside you get with that is blending of genres and the creation and mislabeling of songs like Old Town Road and The Get Up (classified as country when they couldn’t be any less country). From what I’ve seen first hand recently, country is starting to regain some popularity with people my age (I’m 20) and slightly younger, but it’s still got a long way to go. I enjoy most styles of modern country, but at the same time I prefer more traditional sounding songs. It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for the genre. I like where Luke Combs, Riley Green, Midland and Cody Johnson are going, though.

He says that he wanted to sing, he doesn't really care about the genre. He started as country becasue his dad was a country crooner, and that's how he grew up. I love all his songs.

What is "real country"? Country has always had sub genres even going back 50-60 years, there were country artists who crossed over and had hits on pop charts. The same way you have soft rock, hard rock, pop rock, metal etc...Modern country artists have smartly crafted a bit more pop and mainstream influences into their sound and they are filling the huge void left by bands like Matchbox 20, Train and those bands who were huge in the 90s and early 2Ks that dont exist any longer but there are still a ton of people who want that sound. People who dont like the hip hop and rap shit that has taken over. Guys like Rhett, Kane Brown, Sam Hunt, Mitchell Tenpenny and others have done quite well with this. Then you have guys like Luke Combs, Aldean, Luke Bryan and others who kinda straddle the line but lean more country. Then you have more traditional sounding country like Chris Stapleton, Jon Pardi, Cody Johnson and others. All are country, just different sub genres and its awesome, just creates more country music fans.
