Of course one of the most beautiful songs of all times, and then this: One of the worst music videos I ever saw. Didn't know this for about 40 years and am still shocked of how they could produce this grey ambient atmosphere lacking any artistical and/or emotional expression (except for the music). I'm not blaming Rod himself, guess he was young and didn't know better, but the video producers... The Seventies were a funny time.

Looking back at history through current eyes can always play tricks on your mind. We were lucky to have any kind of "on location" video to go with songs back then. Actually I thought this captured the essence of the emotions and message of where Rod Stewart was at in 1975, where he had just left his England home to move to the USA and released the album Atlantic Crossing containing this song. Longing for your true home does evoke those kind of feelings. And seeing the twin towers and New York harbour brings back other memories.
