If a form of more intelligent life than humans exists, then... I don't know if trying to contact them is a good idea. After all, look at how we use the less intelligent species in our planet. They would probably see us as an interesting discovery, but ultimately, as inferior beings. Humanity as a whole probably would end up as subjects in a laboratory... the exact same thing we would do if we happened to find less intelligent life in other planets. Humanity's curiosity is a bliss, we see the unknown with such enthusiastic eyes, but... it can also cause our own demise.

Guys, I have a theory. What if, since we are an unintelligent society. The aliens in space have created a more advanced way of communicating with other civilizations and therefore cant hear us because our ways of communicating with them are outdated to them. Until we are able to harness the flow of the universe from the parent star, a type 2 civilization, they will be able to hear us. Or what if we are the most advanced civilization as of now. But I have another theory that contradicts that, time. Since time, is just a construct and is basically a line, we are somewhere in the middle that prevent us from being a type 2 or 3 civilization. Why? Because time is something we don't have control of. But anyways if you read this, good. All I want to do now is scream into random directions

What I never got when it comes to all the people irrationally scaremongering about alien life is how on Earth (pun unintended) they expect the costs of mounting an interstellar invasion to pay off for any technologically advanced alien race by capturing Earth's primitive useless resources! They can totally even see us as ants (even though that will never happen even if they are dozens of millenia ahead of us technologically as sapient life is scarce in the universe and we'd be a curiosity - if you knew stone-age aliens were living on Mars you might want to study them and their culture and be excited by the discovery, not want to wholesale slaughter them...) and yet it will never make sense for them to invade! They wouldn't be able to even breed in our atmosphere, consume any of our edible foods due to different biologies, use any of our obsolete fossil fuels or power grids for their industry and really extract anything of value from Earth except raw ores and Gases (which are far more plentiful on Asteroids and Gas Giants...) or cultural exports. (maybe they like the texture of silk and wanna dress in it or the sound of reggae - all of which would be far easier to get via trade by tossing us in exchange what to them are useless crumbs and to us amazing discoveries...) Also, we could kill them by suffocation by piercing one of their suits with a fork, they would starve on Earth in the first week unless they would either maintain an impossibly expensive supply line or terraformed our entire planetary environment until it suits their crops/native species, and they likely won't even be able to fuck and birth healthy children here due to gravitational differences - we'd have so many advantages in doing guerrilla warfare that they'd frankly have to be too stupid to have come as conquerers in the first place!For fuck's sake people, let the scientists look as loudly as they want for other life in the universe! Anyone who thinks interstellar invasions could be a worthwhile endeavor has watched too much star wars and thought too little of it realistically, if at all.

The quality of this video is outstanding. Things like this are what make internet great.Now, the vastness of the Universe is SO UNFATHOMABLE that, even if there are other forms of intelligent life, even if there are billions of them, the chances of two of them establishing contact is tiny. In astronomycal terms the lifespan of any given species is just negligible, so our messages could reach some planet where there was life... billions of years ago; or some alien species could have sent some kind of signals to our planet (or even visited it!)... billions of years ago.I don't think we humans will survive more than a few hundred years at the very best, so I find highly unlikely we find alien life (intelligent or not) ever... And maybe it's for the best.

radio signals get distorted and diluted in few light years of travel to the point where they cannot be even distinguished as a message of any kind. to send a understandable message further away you would have to send the message directly to a location with incredibly powerful transmitter, and even then only the civilization on the destination location would ever know that you have sent a message. it's no wonder we never hear anything - there are hundreds of millions of planets in the milky way alone - it's just no point on spamming messages on every planet out there because there's just too many.

We send signals to space just to see who's out there but not knowing if there's something that wants to silence the universe and go back to sleep.
