@Matthew Markham I listen to Nicki Minaj............but, yeah, I agree with you.......so many of us have become so accustomed to listening to radio pop; we have forgotten what really great, authentic, soulful vocals sound like. It's a rarity, when an artist, like John Newman comes along, affecting you so greatly, to where you feel privileged just to get to listen to one of his songs.

He has 1,021,612 as of right now!! Nice sound and great lyrics. This has always been true though....people listen to pop or dance to escape, so sometimes don't want deep thoughts....also, they tend to follow the crowd, so whoever is hot is going to get all the listens. What is really fucked up is everyone now buys single songs, and anyone who lived through the album years, even when the only reason someone might buy an album was the cover art...they were cheap enough so everyone took shots, and got lucky from time to time discovering some great bands. And although, like everyone else, we would buy an album because of the 1 song we heard played over and over on the radio, 100%, not 90 or 95 or 99%, but 100% of the time, the song we bought the album for soon enough became the 3rd or 4th or 5th best song on the album. These poor singers now, if they have a great bunch of songs, and the radio only pushes 1 song, nobody ever is introduced to the others, and I guarantee that means they are only getting what the record producers thought would sell, and NOTHING else...and missing out on better tunes because nobody buys the album anymore.......well I shouldn't say nobody, but many, or most.

This guy is so underrated it's insane. He is one of the best musicians out there today. And yet he can't get a million views, What's wrong with people nowadays.

I agree 1000%.. This guy is super underrated and one of the few true artists around.  He's going to be a legend before he's done and he's only getting started.
