This was a great album ONLY BECAUSE AMY and the amazing lyrics. Thank God girl beater Moody is gone. The new band seems to be working great and honestly from The Open Door album and every album since has been just holy and much better than this album and their old stuff. I'm 27, been listening to them since I was 11. Listened to them old demo stuff before fallen an every unreleased song as I'm a huge fan. I imagine this song is about a man who has homicidal tendencies , and his soulmate (amy lee singing the role) describes how much she loves him even though he has caused her last breath, and that he somehow still has affection for her, that she can taste his love for her in his tears. It's a stretch but if you think about it it's very emotional.

"No one is there " could describe how the man always wanted to kill but now regrets killing the only person who loved him, that she's not there for him anymore. "Fade to black" could also mean that he kills himself after he kills her because he can't take the pain.
