I don't know how this came of idea of the song. But I think it's relating to her sister Bonnie who died at age 3 from an identified illness when Amy was a kid. She took her sister's death to heart and hard. It devastate Amy Lee and was very hard for Amy to deal with and handle.

It sounds almost as if it's about a rape as apposed to a murder. But still the meaning is different for many, especially the writer... Maybe we are all right. But then again maybe we are all wrong. Chances are it dances around the story instead of through it... Most great art does.

Huh, everyone's saying that they think this is about witnessing a murder, and, I mean I can understand that; but for me it resonates in a different way. I feel like it's about witnessing a rape/molestation of a younger family member. Maybe it's just cuz I was raped when I was little by my father, and the lyrics remind me of my mother's perspective on it (though she never witnessed it)..Guess that was a little too blunt..but idk, that's just how I see the song tbh
