It is not that Beyonce cannot perform "yellow pages, upside down,inside out" it is that she do not want to perform oldies. Her voice and stage presents is so strong when she is singing soul, r&b that she can compete with all of the great singers from the last century. It is sad that in all of her career she didn't record an album or two of those golden songs. I will be the first in line to pay good money for that records!

This is probably the one song Beyoncé couldn’t improve on. Her tone is way too crystal clear. Etta James had that smoky husky smooth jazz tone; the song was built for her. Beyoncé can’t help but sing with vibrato, which the song doesn’t need. However, all things considered, it’s a solid cover and an easy listen. Etta James is still the GOAT of this song.
