The name of Mardin can be assyrian, but when i was in the Deyrulzafaran monastery the people working there told me about the sun temple! They has also show me the room where they prayed for the sun. There is a room whit a small opening in the wall, where the sun shines inside.

Are you sure about that? The name Mardin comes from Assyrian meaning "Fortresses". Th Deyrulzafaran monastery was built by Assyrians but the city of Mardin itself had never existed before the 3rd century AD, however most of the Area was under the Ancient Assyrian empire prior to that.

Theres only 1 type of Mhallamis and I'm talking about the ones that live in Mardin. The Mhallami language isnt just Arabic its actually got Aramaic in it but with a huge Arabic influence. If you cannot see Assyrian culture in Mhallami culture then why are you living in Mardin? lol we found Mardin, and Mardin is an Assyrian word meaning "fortresses" and it was ours before the Ottoman era.

The Mahallamis are just arabs, you can not change that. A time ago a talked with kurds from Mardin, They were saying that the mahallamis are kurd who speak arab!!! I dont believe that ether !!! I heard the storys from my grandparents thats what I believe. Second the Ottoman did not killed assyrians. Sorry i'm not agree with you. The Mahallamis means in Arabic Mahalla Mia 100 familys or 100 neighburhoods. Further more the Ottoman empire was the only empire that respected other religions ! Actually no, its not a myth its proven. All Mhalmayeh of this generation as we call them have grandparents who spoke Aramaic. They are indigenous of Mardin, the reason they call themselves Mhallimi is because Hilma in Aramaic means Dream and Mhalmayeh mean the Dreamers because they dreamt of the day where they would convert back to Christianity during the Muslim Ottoman conquest of the area which forbid Christianity. Most Mhallimi still have crosses in there houses but they say its flowers.
